The Cudahy Lifestyle

A city with hometown values

Since its founding in the late 1800s by businessman and namesake Patrick Cudahy, our city has been known for its strong business partnerships.  We're not all work and no play, however. There are a number of good reasons that 18,000 residents choose to make Cudahy their home base for shopping, dining and exploring. Here are just a few.

1. Plenty of Parks. Cudahy has six county parks and 823 acres of parkland. Warnimont Golf, an 18 hole executive, par-54 municipal course, is the perfect place to spend an afternoon on the links. The city's lakefront park, featuring a popular hike/bike trail, was created on acreage given by Patrick Cudahy to Milwaukee County.

2. Farm Freshness. Cudahy residents have the opportunity to enjoy a weekly farmers market.  Packard Avenue downtown is filled every Friday from May through October with vendors selling locally-grown fruits and vegetables, fresh-cut flowers, natural foods, crafts, jewelry and other items.

3. Our Grand Finale. Every July 4th Cudahy gears up for an Independence Day celebration in a grand style. It starts with a parade featuring over 100 units, leading to a day of park festivities and culminating in a brilliant fireworks display over Lake Michigan at the Sheridan Park shoreline.

4. South Shore Cyclery Classic Bike Race.  New in 2010, elite bicyclists from across the United States and the world will converge on Cudahy for a SUPERWEEK bike race sponsored by South Shore Cyclery.  The South Shore Cyclery Classic on July 15, 2010 will be one of 17 consecutive days of 2010 International Cycling Classic (ICC) bike races.  Also known as "SUPERWEEK", the event series will feature races in 14 city centers in Wisconsin and Illinois.
